AR organises training programme

Imphal, December 01 2019:
Singhat Battalion of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (South) organised a seven-day training camp on organic farming, piggery and mushroom cultivation from November 24 to 30 under project SWAVLAMBAN for farmers of border villages of Singhat Sub Division.
The project aimed at helping the villagers to achieve economic independence by empowering them with the knowledge of multiple modes of agricultural practices said a press release issued by IGAR (S) .
The week long training was conducted in coordination with ICAR, Imphal and Green Biotech Eco Solution, Imphal, it said adding that training on mushroom cultivation, organic farming and piggery farming in a scientific manner was conducted at 7 remote villages of the Singhat Sub Division.
It also said that the week long training improved the awareness level of the farmers.
Saying that MLA of Singhat Constituency also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles, the statement continued Director ICAR, Dr N Prakash appreciated the initiative of the Assam Rifle The trainees also expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for the event, it added.
