Sit-in protest

Protesting against the opening of private shops within the premises of Yairipok Community Health Centre, Apunba Meira Paibi Lup Yairipok Bamon Leikai staged a sit-in protest at Bamon Leikai youth
Club premises.
The meira paibis urged the authority concerned to check the intruding shopkeepers at the earliest and warned of resorting to rigorous agitation otherwise.
The protesters tried to march till Yairipok CHC however police stationed near Yairipok bazar blocked the road.
The protesters then headed back to Bamol Leikai Youth Club ground and continued the sit-in protest.
Speaking to media persons, CHC Yairipok Medical officer in-charge and member secretary of Hospital Society Dr Th Rajen Singh said, "The present under construction plots were once occupied by old CHC Yairipok hospital.
The hospital was shifted to a new building later.
Illegal parking inside the old building prompted the Hospital Management Society to open pharmacies and shops.
These shops are not for any private gain but are being run for the welfare of the hospital" .
He also appealed the public to approach the hospital management officials for further clarification and suspend their protest.
