State sends kiwifruits to Patna, Lucknow

Imphal, October 30 2022:
A consignment of 1.5 MT of locally grown kiwifruits has been sent to Patna and Lucknow from Imphal today.
The initiative to market the locally grown fruit variety was taken up by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) of Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department.
The consignment was flagged off by Project Director of MOMA cum Additional Director of Horticulture and Soil Conservation K Debadutta Sharma at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.
Speaking to media persons, K Debadutta said that the State is now capable of selling its horticulture produce to Metro cities and abroad.
Saying that it was the first time locally grown kiwifruits have been sent to other State with Nahakpam Foods and Beverages Pvt Ltd and Freshies Fresh as facilitators, he maintained that Freshies Fresh had earlier sent another consignment of kiwifruits to Azadpur Mandi, Delhi.
He further stated that wastages of fruits and vegetables would be minimal as the State has found more markets to sell its produce.
CEO of Nahakpam Foods and Beverages Pvt Ltd and Freshies Fresh, Nahakpam Santa also attended the programme.
He said that Freshies Fresh will send another 2 MT of kiwifruits to Azadpur Mandi, Delhi shortly.
