Imphal, August 30 2022:
All Integrated Teachers' Association, Manipur (AITAM) are set to go on mass casual leave for two days on August 31 and September 1 following the lack of positive response from the Education Director, Commissioner and Education Minister in connection with segregating the salary head of ex-Samagra teachers.
According to a statement, AITAM had approached the Education Director, Commissioner and Education Minister regarding the grievances of the Association in connection with the letter issued by the Directorate of Education (S) on August 12 directing all ZEOS/DDOS and head of institutions to forward fund proposal, segregating the teachers as Samagra and Department.
AITAM had expressed confusion with the letter as the mentioned 3480 teachers were no longer Samagra teachers after their integration to the Department of Education (S) by an order of the Directorate of Education on July 23, 2020, the statement added.
AITAM has stated that the change in salary head will bring irregularities in salary.
As such, AITAM has resolved to take up a democratic form of agitation by going on mass casual leave for two days.
