Bishnupur district police present annual report

Bishnupur district police have registered 411 numbers of FIR cases and submitted charge sheet of 79 cases from January 1 till December 23 of 2017 .
According to information provided by Bishnupur district police, 411 FIR cases have been registered in various police stations within the district and 79 charge sheets have been submitted before the Court.
367 cases have been returned in final report and 446 cases have been disposed.
In the said time period, Bishnupur district police have been able to recover a stolen Tata truck from Chongkham Namsai district, Arunachal Pradesh in June.
An accused was also arrested.
In the same month, Nambol police were also able to recover a stolen Maruti Omni van along with arresting one accused.
In April, a stolen Tata Indigo was also recovered from Kodompokpi along with the arrest of the accused individual and in May, two stolen Honda Activa were recovered from Sagang village and Kumbi Louthongbi Loukol.
The district police also recovered a stolen cow (worth around Rs 30 thousand) and arrested two accused in May.
The district police were able to arrest 44 UG militants and two arms dealers along with the recovery of 9 mm pistol with 20 live ammunition, a carbine with magazine, 2780 numbers of AK ammunition, four Chinese hand grenade and one US made hand grenade.
Security forces and Army also arrested and handed over 40 numbers of UG militants along with seizure of two 9 mm pistols with 20 live ammunition, one .765 mm pistol with magazine and two live rounds, an AK rifle with magazine, 50 numbers of 7.62 mm ammunition, two US made hand grenades, three Chinese hand grenades, four lathode bombs, seven electric detonators and others.
The district police also detained 14 UG militants under National Security Act.
In March, the district police was able to successfully rescue a 14 year old boy who was kidnapped and kept concealed at an unknown place by trafficker from Khwairamband Keithel Shamu Makhong along with the arrest of the accused individual.
The district police seized 80 grams of heroin, 2360 numbers of WY tablets, 15033 numbers of SP capsules and 880 number of N-10 tablets.
District police also carried out drive against fake documents (driving license) and during the drive, 1007 numbers of driving license were checked and verified.
16 fake licenses were detected and two cases have been registered in this regard by Bishnupur police station, it added.
Three individuals have been arrested along with recovery and seizure of computer sets and printers for forging documents (driving license) the said case has been transferred to SP, CID Crime branch.
As a part of the community policing awareness programme on POCSO, drug abuse, HIV, cyber crime and safety of women and children, various programme have been organised by the district police from time to time.
