Imphal, September 28 2013 :
Reacting against the 'letter' written by the authority of Sishu Nistha Niketan not to grant re-admission to students, who are not availing the services of registered School Transport Vehicles, for the academic session 2014-15, Parents/Guardians of Students Who Are Travelling By Non-approved Transportations Association has resolved to take all possible recourse to challenge such imposition of the school authority.
The Association convened a meeting today and discussed the matter in detail.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao in this regard, Pushpa Gurumayum, Spokesperson of the Association informed that the students of the school, who are not travelling in the registered School Transport Vehicles are being harassed mentally by the school authority.
They have been creating problems throughout the academic session of 2013-14 insisting that the students must opt for approved school Vans/Transport services.
Pushpa further informed that the students of the school are being ferried from home to school since the initiation of the school by transport vans as instructed by the school authority.
However, during the mid session of 2013-14, the school authority introduced a new transport policy and directed the students to travel in the registered School Transport Vehicles only.
The school authority even went to the extent of serving a letter signed by its Principal wherein it was mentioned that the "School Management in an emergency meeting has resolved not to grant re-admission to students who are not availing the registered School Transport Vehicles, for the academic 2014-15.However, as a gesture of goodwill, the School management has also resolved to allow children of the parents who intend to continue association with the school to enroll and avail of registered school transport facility with a fine of Rs 1500 by October 15, 2013 along with a written request", Pushpa pointed out.
Although the parents have approached the school authorities and pressed them to withdraw such imposition as it is too harsh and illegal, the school authority refused to do the same and as such, the aggrieved parents have decided to take all possible recourse to challenge the school authority through forums available under the law, Pushpa said, while informing complaint would also be lodged to the Education Minister and all other concerned authorities in this regard.
