Documents distributed for BSUP beneficiaries

Imphal, April 28 2011:
MLA Elangbam Suraj today in a function organised by the Yaiskul Block Congress Committee (I) at his residence distributed documents related to grant in aid for housing of urban poor to beneficiaries of Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP) .
President, Yaiskul Block Congress Committee (I), W Ibotombi, MLA Yaiskul AC E Suraj, vice president of the block congress committee H Irabot, former councilor Guneshwar and councilor ward number 20 Th Bijen attended the function as presidium members.
After distributing the documents, MLA Suraj said that the scheme is taken up for urban slum areas under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewable Mission.
Since there is no slum area in the state, the state government is giving the facilities to poor families residing in the urban area.
He urged the beneficiaries to start construction work as soon as the grant money is released.
He also appealed to those who are not selected as beneficiaries in the first phase not to get disheartened since they will also be selected in the upcoming phases.
MLA Suraj distributed documents to 180 beneficiaries of four wards under Yaiskul AC today.
A beneficiary is entitled to get grant in aid of Rs 3 lakh through four phases under the scheme.
