Two persons arrested with stolen SUV

A team of Imphal West Narcotic Cell arrested Pradhan of Changamdabi Gram Panchayat Md Imran Khan and a non-local along with a stolen four SUV car from Namdunlong this morning.
According to a reliable source, the Narcotic Cell led by a Sub-Inspector, who were on a surveillance duty came across two suspicious persons standing near Pamei Car Washing Centre Namdulong Khuman Lampak Stadium road at around 6.30 am.
They were immediately detained for questioning by the Narcotic Cell team.
They have been identified as Changamdabi Gram Panchayat Pradhan Md Imran Khan (39) s/o Md Fajur Rahaman of Yairipok Changamdabi Mathak Leikai and Javed Mirza (53) s/o Altab Mirza of Yusuf Mirza Building Chowk Magsodd Ali Baghpat Gate, Meerut presently staying at Thangal Bazar.
On further interrogation, the duo revealed that they came there in a stolen white coloured Toyota Fortuner SUV car (AP 03AY/9999), which was found parked near the car washing centre.
One smart card of the vehicle issued by Telangana State Transport Department was found inside the car.
On further questioning, the duo disclosed that the car was stolen from Meerut by Mirza and his accomplice identified as Syed Omer Aneeq Syed Namathulla of Zaminstanpur Musheerbad.
They also said that original engine number and chassis number have been tampered to sell it in Manipur.
Later, they were formally arrested by the team of Narcotic Cell at around 8.30 am.
The team also seized one Samsung mobile along with a Vodafone SIM card and a voter identity card issued by Election Commission of India and a driving licence issued by DTO Bishnupur from Javed Mirza.
They also seized two Samsung mobile phones with two SIM cards, one identity card issued by Director Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, registration certificate of the car from the possession of Pradhan Md Imran Khan.
Both of them have been handed over to Imphal police station, said a source.
