Imphal, June 24 2011:
MLA O Joy of MPP today criticised ministers of the SPF government saying that they always avoid meeting with the opposition MLAs and warned that if they continued to hide from the MLAs, he will be lodged a complaint to the police.
A highly furious O Joy said that ministers are hiding themselves from meeting opposition MLAs.
They also avoided meetings even after contacts were established on mobile phones, he alleged while speaking to reporters on the sideline of his inspection to the Environment and Ecological Park at the MLA's constituency in Langthabal.
The ministers are like "420s and looters" who will come out only when they will receive benefits.
Retaining them as ministers will not be right, he said, informing that he will ask the Chief Minister and Governor to remove them from their posts as ministers.
Asserting that huge funds were being released to the state government for the Centre sponsored flagship programmes in the state, he said most of the programmes have failed to achieve their ends due to the insincerity of the ministers.
He said, the MGNREGS programme has totally failed in Imphal West district.
The Congress led SPF government could not furnish fund utilization certificates to the Centre and as such further release of funds have been blocked.
He queried when opposition MLAs want to meet the ministers regarding development works in their constituencies and not for personal favour why are they avoiding the MLAs.
