Books released on 12th foundation day of public library

Imphal, April 23 2022: The two-day observation of the 12th foundation day of Mayang Imphal Public Library was kicked off today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.

It is worth mentioning that the event was sponsored by Human Resource Development Centre.

The first day of the two-day observation was marked by the book release of Premjit Thounaojam's 'Manglan Oihoure' and Dr Chongtham Tombi's 'Nungshibagidamak' .

The event was also graced by Sahitya Akademi Awardee Thokchom Ibohanbi as chief guest; Loitongbam Brajamohon, actor and theatre director as guest of honour and RK Gunachandra, founder president of Imakhol as president of the function.

Renowned critic Salam Tombi and DM University faculty member Saratchandra Longjam spoke at length about the books released.

Speaking on the occasion, Premjit Thounaojam stated that the book is based on the current scenario of the society as well as what could occur in the future and his thoughts and feelings on the matter.

He added that he tried to paint an accurate portrait of the world around him in his drama book.
