Imphal, March 22 2012:
MLA RK Imo of Sagolband AC has stated that he has asked the concerned authority to complete repairing work of NH 37 from Wahengbam Leikai to Oriental College without any further delay.
Speaking to media persons at his Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Thangapat residence this afternoon, the newly elected MLA reminded that the former Government gave assurance to complete the road repairing work before the last Assembly elections but the same could not be completed till date.
Taking serious note of the inconveniences encountered by public because of the battered road, RK Imo stated that he would be submit a written representation to the Chief Minister to see that the road repairing work is completed at the earliest.
Significantly, taking strong exception to the authority's attitude of keeping the road stretch in complete shambles for a long time, local people blocked the road on March 20 .
Even as there were reports about a huge amount of money sanctioned for the Thangapat (canal) running beside the highway, no development work can be seen on the Thangapat.
Imo said that he would enquire about the matter with relevant authorities and ask them to execute the Thangapat development work without delay.
