Chakpikarong face power shortage, ADC Member appeals

The newly elected ADC member of Chakpikarong DCC (Chandel district) Nula Warngam has appealed to the authorities concerned to make the power sub station at Salluk village functional in view of the lack of power supply at Chakpikarong and its surrounding villages.
Nula Warngam today took out on an inspection drive at the power sub-station at Salluk, CHC, Chakpikarong and the office of the SDO, Chakpikarong along with village chiefs of Chakpikarong, Rungchang, Novokom, NPF, Chandel Divisional Unit Ts Molarsing and representatives of Anal Students Union, Chakpikarong branch.
'The people of Chakpi area are grateful to the State Government for having constructed the power sub-station', Warngam said but stressed on the need to make it functional.
Stating the hardships faced by the people due to power scarcity in the area, Warngam appealed authorities concerned to expedite the process in making the station functional.
At CHC, Chakpikarong, ultra sound and x-ray rooms are locked owing to lack of technicians in the centre.
"Candles are sometimes used in cases of emergencies due to lack of power supply in the CHC", a staff disclosed to the visiting team.
Nula warngam appealed the Health Directorate concerned to look into the matter at the earliest.
The visiting team found only one staff present at SDO office, Chakpikarong.
NPF Chandel Divisional Unit President, Ts Molarsing accused the State Government of neglecting Chakpikarong sub-division.
He expressed resentment over the condition of the CHC adding that the health centre exist only in papers without proper equipment.
