DSWO, SDSA organize painting competition at Senapati

Department of Social Welfare Office (DSWO), Senapati in collaboration with the Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) have organised an open district level painting competition at DV School, Senapati under the theme "Let's develop our lives, our communities and our identities without drugs".
The programme was reportedly held in connection with the observance of the upcoming 'International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking, 2019' slated to be held on June 26.Speaking at the occasion, District Social Welfare Officer JK Makabo said that the competitions was organized in different districts where the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners would be sent to Imphal for the Open State Level Wall Painting Competition to be held on June 23.Prize winners of that competition would be sent to the observance day of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2019 on June 26 and will be honoured with prizes on the day at Imphal, the officer added and wished the participants to give their best in the competition.
The DSWO also urged the public to keep Senapati district a free drug abuse district in the future.
The painting competition saw participation from 20 competitors including one from Kangpokpi representing different schools, Hr Sec schools and colleges while the judges declared K Nambalungbe Teibam s/o Koheireng of Imphal Art College, BFA, 4th year as the winner while Thangjam Zenith of Class X from Mt Everest Hr Sec School as the 1st runners-up and Shimphrai Obedient of Class XII from Mt Everest Hr Sec School, Senapati as the 2nd runners-up and were honoured with cash prize of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
Consolation prize of Rs 1,000 each were distributed to Jiya Jouthang, N Dinesh, Paveiru Leo Hanamai, Themchuila Keishing and Rakovei.
