Education Minister inspects Nongdambi canal

"COVID-19 which is wreaking havoc across the world is like an undeclared third world war.
We must work together to come out of this war victorious," said Education Minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam, today.
Speaking to media persons while inspecting the dredging of Nongdambi canal which passes through Salungpham, the Minister continued that the pandemic has threatened the overall activities of even the developed countries.
Saying that no vaccine has been developed to cure the disease caused by a novel coronavirus (nCoV2), Radheshyam appealed all to wear masks, regularly wash their hands and practise physical distancing whenever possible to stay away from the virus.
Concerning the evacuation of State's natives from different cities, the Minister said that the resolution to evacuate them (the stranded Manipuris) was taken up after a minute discussion considering the plight and suffering of Manipuris far from home due to the lockdown.
Stating that the State Government is minutely observing the unfolding situation and will initiate all possible measures to stop further transmission of COVID-19, Radheshyam appealed all not to look down or stigmatise the returnees.
Regarding dredging of the canal, the Minister, who is also an MLA of Heirok AC said lauded the Local Area Development Fund Committee of Heirok for initiating the work, which he says will benfit the local farmers to a great extent.
