Motor car rallyist given warm reception

District Administration, Jiribam and Jiribam police have warmly received the motor car rally flagged off from Rajghat, New Delhi for Yangon, Myanmar on February 4 at the playground of Jiribam Higher Secondary School this morning.
The reception ceremony was attended by Adakshya Zilla Parishad, Jiribam, Kh Janaki Devi; AC to DC Jiribam, M Bungba Singh; Jiribam Police, SP, M Mubi Singh; Additional SPs, Ajit Kumar Sharma and H Basulal Singh; SDPO, Th Sanatomba Singh; DFO Jiribam, Ch Ibomcha; JIMPAL, president H Mema Devi and All Jiribam Sports Association president, M Brajakanta Singh as the presidium members.
Speaking to media persons, one of the rallyist stated that the car rally is jointly organised by Kalinga Motor Sports Club, Bhubaneshwar; Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, GoI and Ministry of External Affairs in connection with the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Mahatma Gandhi.
Altogether 32 individuals (10 cars) are taking part in the rally which will culminate at Yangoon, Myanmar after covering a distance of approximately 7,250 kilometres, he said.
Stating that the team members are extremely happy, to see such support from the people of the State in their endeavours, he exclaimed "Thank you Jiribam, Thank You Manipur".
The raliyist were flagged off for Yangoon in the later part of the day by Kh Janaki Devi.
