TPR picks up again, Kamjong reports 42.9 pc

After witnessing a sudden drop in the daily positivity rate to below 6 per cent on Saturday, the state on Sunday recorded spike in the positivity rate at 8.04 per cent which is the highest in the last seven days.
Government bulletins reported one fatality and 234 new positive cases out of 2912 samples on Sunday.
Though the overall positivity rate on Sunday remained in single digit, Kamjong district recorded 42.9 per cent positivity rate by reporting 18 new cases out of 42 samples tested.
Chandel (12.8 per cent), Imphal East (10.9 per cent), Imphal West (10.5 per cent) and Bishnupur (9.8 per cent) district also recorded higher than average positivity rate.
The active caseload rose to 2189 out of which 408 (18.64 per cent) are in home isolation, 638 (29.15 per cent) in CHICs, 764 (34.90 per cent) in CCCs and 379 (17.31 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 78 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 112 are on oxygen support and 27 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS which has 148 patients.
On the other hand, there are seven patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Sunday evening, 547 beds including 112 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Saturday evening 2709 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 383 beds (26 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 89,095 positive cases and 1457 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 4562 new cases and 49 fatalities out of which 1401 new cases and 20 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 234 new positive cases included 226 civilians (105 male & 121 female) and 8 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were detected at RIMS (12), JNIMS (28) and other testing centres (194).The positive cases from among the General population are from Imphal East 65), Imphal West (93), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (16), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (9), Chandel (5), Senapati (6), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Kamjong (18) and Kangpokpi (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The lone fatality case was a resident of Imphal West district and she had not received any doses of Covid vaccine.
With this, the cumulative number of deaths has reached 1831.In the last 24 hours, 224 patients were discharged from home isolation (53), RIMS (5), JNIMS (19), CCCs (111) and CHICs (36) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,18,495 (general population - 1,14,256 and CAPF personnel - 4,239).Number of recovered cases is 1,14,475 (general population - 1,10,301 and CAPF personnel - 4,174) and number of active cases is 2,189 (general population - 2,129and CAPF personnel - 60) .
The recovery rate is 96.61 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1018 D-type and 331 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 4825 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,14,099 including 4,11,706 fully vaccinated individuals.
As of Saturday, 1,03,884 eligible people are yet to get the second dose of Covid vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (40,516), Imphal East (26,207), Thoubal (9281), Churachandpur (9939), Kangpokpi (2728), Tamenglong (3236), Bishnupur (8923), Senapati (2172), Ukhrul (2589), Kakching (6303), Chandel (2245), Noney (1057), Tengnoupal (1030), Jiribam (1014), Kamjong (823) and Pherzawl (432) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (609), Imphal East (431), Thoubal (168), Churachandpur (156), Kangpokpi (57), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (185), Senapati (8), Ukhrul 31), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 38,187 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,973 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,08,391 tests per million population against the national average" of 3,95,530 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2912 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 8.04 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.35 per cent.
