With the condition Mangal Golmei, an injured victim of July 23 incident becomes serious, family is planning to shift him at New Delhi for further treatment at All India Institutes of Medical Science (AIIMS).
For meeting the expenditure to be incurred in the treatment, family is getting ready to sell out paddy fields.
Mangal Golmei of Keithelmanbi who sustained severe injury when a bullet hit at his left hand in the July 23 shooting incident is currently treating at cabin no.1 of the orthopedic ward of the RIMS Hospital.
He received bond fracture at the wrist.
In an interaction with some reporters at the cabin where Mangal is treating, under the guidance of doctor, I Ibomcha, president of Rongmei Lu phuam, Panti Golmei said so far the expenditure of treatment of Mangal is meeting with the family effort and helps extended by civil societies and individuals.
Except five bottle of blood received from RIMS authority and around Rs 12,000 provided by the civil societies and individuals, no assistant from the government comes up.
They have sought assistant from the government side by approaching the chief minister with memorandum.
No positive reply could get.
They had also lodged complaint with the Manipur Human Rights Commission, he added.
Panti Golmei further said that Mangal's family is survived with the meager income he gets as a grade-IV employee of the state government.
Due to over expenditure incurred in his treatment, the family has been reduced to a poor family.
Children of the family dropped school, he said while strongly condemning to the government neglected attitude toward the injured victim who is also a government employee.
He also condemned the state government effort to suppress the agitation of the people spearheading by Apunba Lup chanting for justice into the killing of people by the security forces.
People's voice could not be suppressed by using force.
The condition of Congress party in the state will not be good in the coming elections, he observed appealing the people to raise up against the government's anti-people policy.
