Cooperative Week observed at Thoubal

The 58th All India Cooperative Week 2011 was observed today at Wangban Community Hall, Thoubal.
The observation was organised by the Manipur State Co-operative Union, Imphal in association with the District Cooperative Thoubal and National Cooperative Union of India - Cooperative.
Education Field Project Thoubal.Cooperation, Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar and Works Minister K Ranjit graced the function as Chief Guest and President respectiely.Speaking in the occasion, Minister L Jayantakumar said that development of cooperative movement is very important for a state like Manipur which does not have much natural resources and big industries.
In order to revive the cooperative movement in the state, the state cabinet had approved a package of Rs 47 crores in the plan budget, he said.
He also appealed to the various cooperative societies in the state to join hand and come forward to revive the movement for a better society.
