Imphal, April 18 2017:
WAKF Board chairman Fajur Rahim has asked how the Board members are supposed to misuse funds, as alleged, if the State Government has not provided any funds in the first place.
Speaking to media persons at WAKF Board's office at Hafiz Hatta, he expressed disappointment at the allegations made by a few Meitei Pangal organisations against the Board based on some unfounded rumours.
The Board consists of 12 members and no decision can be taken without a Board meeting and any scheme or developmental projects are first discussed by the Board before approval and implementation, he added.
There are 30 Madrasa, 150 teachers and 21 staff under the Board in the State.
He said that the teachers and staff most of whom were appointed during the time of late Minister Allaudin Khan are working without getting any salaries as the State Government has not provided any funds since 2014 .
Fajur Rahim urged those concerned not to point fingers at the chairman and CEO of the Board without proper investigation.
