Imphal, August 17 2015:
Informing that the phase of blocking roads for two hours in a day has come to an end, JCILPS has called upon all the protesters to take out mass rallies and submit memorandums highlighting the five suggestions placed before the Government for incorporation in the Bill being drafted to respective local MLAs.
JCILPS also urged all the people to persuade their respective MLAs to take pro-active roles in the collective efforts to implement ILPS in Manipur.
It further appealed to all the people to gherao all Government offices in democratic manner.
According to a press release issued by Md Kheirudin Shah Moijingmayum, the State Government is still unable to take any substantial step regarding the popular even after submission of a memorandum which suggested a number of legally acceptable options.
Noting that the State Government has taken bold decisions to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur, JCILPS asked whether the State's boundary should be safeguarded only to be handed over to non-local people.
This is not acceptable to the indigenous people of the Sate.
In addition to safeguarding the political and geographical boundary of Manipur, indigenous people of the land must be protected, it added.
