Meeting resolves to substitute disposable tea glass with earthen cups

Ima Leisana Women Street Vendors Welfare Union, which is affiliated to Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, organised a public meeting in which resolutions were adopted.
A press release issued by general secretary of the union stated that the meeting was organised at Hao Keithel in which Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, North East in charge N Tomba, Khadi and Village Industries Board Vice-Chairman Yumnam Nilamani, BMS State general secretary L Sanatombi attended along with women vendors of the Keithel.
In view of the mass utilisation of disposable glasses at about 95 hotels in the State (which have given FSSAI licence by the Health Department), the meeting resolved to substitute the disposable tea cups with earthen/clay cups as the disposable plastic cups can be hazardous to health.
It maintained that the earthen cups will be made by talented artisans of Thongjao, which has also been promoted by Khadi and Village Industries Board, GoM, added the statement.
Speaking as the chief guest of the meeting, Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Worker Education, GoI, RAC chairman N Tomba conveyed that the Rajya Sabha MP K Bhabananda has assured to dedicate a water ATM to the womenfolk, under LADF, at the earliest.
He appealed to all the people to extend their support and co-operation to the initiative of discarding plastic disposable glass as part of the Dattopant Thengadi birth centenary celebration.
Khadi and Village Industries Board, GoM vice president Y Nilamani underlined the need to promote the talented artisans of the State and to promote their work and products.
Ima Leisana Women Street Vendors Welfare Union president Nk Khembati Leima lauded KVIB vice president for his assistance while seeking the attention of the State Government to provide ambulance service and to open a legal aid clinic for the welfare of the public.
