Imphal, March 15 2020:
Taking notice of the spikes in the prices of N95 masks and hand sanitisers amidst pandemic coronavirus spread, State Government has notified that black marketing and overpricing of masks (2 ply & 3 ply surgical masks, N95 masks) and hand sanitisers is punishable under the provisions of Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and the Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 .
It may be noted that the number of positive coronavirus cases in India has climbed to 107, including 17 foreign nationals.
Two persons have died of the disease in Delhi and Karnataka.
