Imphal, April 13 2018:
Accusing the BJP-led Government at the State of adopting anti-people policies since its formation in the last general election, State Secretary, Communist Party of India (CPI), Manipur State Council L Sotinkumar contended that BJP would be overthrown and a coalition Government would be formed in the next general election.
Addressing a press meet held at its Irawat Bhawan office today, Sotinkumar claimed that people have started losing faith in BJP both at the Centre and State for its anti-people and obscure policies.
He pointed out that the mass staging of sit-in-protests in different parts of the country under the banner "Save Democracy" is a clear indication that people no longer want BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre.
He alleged that undemocratic policies of BJP-led Government at the Centre incited communal riots upon thousands of people.
The sudden imposition of demonetisation, GST and scrapping of the Planning Commission by BJP led the people to encounter many inconveniences, he said.
He also claimed that by sticking to its Hindutva ideology, BJP has sidelined tribal, minorities and dalits in the country.
Continuing its tirade against BJP, Sotinkumar cited the example of arrest of several university students for speaking against the saffron party.
He charged BJP with wooing elected MLAs of other political parties after declaration of the election results just to stake claim to form Government.
He also accused the Chief Minister of distorting the history of Manipur by making unfounded statements in Gujarat recently.
He asked the people to be aware of divisive and cheap politics propagated by the BJP-led Government at the Centre and at the State only to gain political mileage.
