Imphal, April 12 2019: Refuting the alleged claim of ex-MLA Amin Shah of Congress that Kaiku is a pawn of the BJP, RK Somendro today accused the ex-MLA of practising cheap politics to spread propaganda before the Lok Sabha election on April 18 .

The actor turned politician was speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony at Thau Ground, Imphal.

The flag was hoisted at his house at Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai and the main event was held at Thau Ground where large number of well wishers and supporters mostly youths gathered.

RK Somendro better known as Kaiku is contesting Lok Sabha election as an Independent candidate from Inner Parliamentary Constituency.

His election symbol is Ship.

Winning and losing the election is in hands of the people.

People will decide the fate of the candidates, he said appealing the politicians to practice 'true politics' .

Spreading propaganda and playing cheap tricks are not essence of a true politician, Somendro said.

"Instead of demonstrating superiority of oneself over others and playing words of war, all the candidates and political parties should think in their capacity and deliberate the issues plaguing the growth of the State for solutions," he said.

"Let us all campaign with sincerity and let public decide who is fit to be their representative," he added.

During the ceremony, Somendro also released manifesto which contains nine key points.

In the manifesto, Somendro promises to solve the border issue, fight AFSPA, demand for Special Status category, scrap CAB, ST status demand and security and growth of the indigenous population.

The manifesto also promises to create jobs/ provide livelihood to youths.

Renowned actors and other personalities including social activist Sitara Begum, Film Forum Manipur chairman Mangoljao, social activist MA Zabar, film maker Ksh Keshokumar and Cine Actors Guild president Takhellabam Lokendro Singh attended the flag hoisting ceremony.
