Polling process to be web cast

Chief Electoral Officer VK Dewangan has announced that polling process in all polling stations of the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly polls would be web cast.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, CEO Dewangan said, "All the 2794 polling stations in the State will be web cast on election day.
The web casting will be done on-line in places where internet facilities are available whereas those areas which do not have internet facilities will have off-line mode" .
He pointed out that a video conference was held with the Election Commission of India regarding EVM,VV PAT and observers and confirmed that the coming election will feature 'randomisation' of EVMs.
Informing that VV PAT might be used in around four to eight assembly constituencies, he said,"We have already discussed the issues of deploying general observers, police observers and expenditure observers on the election day" .
Assessment for issuing certificates to the Returning Officers would be held on November 24 and 25 .
"Director General of Election Commission, Sudeep Jain, will be arriving here for inspection on November 21 and 22", he said.
Replying to an enquiry, he said," The Commission has not given any sign of announcing an earlier date for the election" .
