Impressive turnout on PMSMA day at CHC Saikul

In a record breaking health programme in Saikul area, Community Health Centre (CHC) Saikul witnessed a mammoth turnout of pregnant women on Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) programme held yesterday under the aegis of State Health Society (Maternal Health) at the health centre.
As many as 251 pregnant women were registered attending the special antenatal clinic projected especially for them by the Government under PMSMA where the pregnant women under CHC Saikul, Kangpokpi district are given free treatment, free diet and free diagnosis including Ultra-sonography.
PMSMA specialist volunteers, Dr Bilashni Tayenjam (Obstetrician & Gynecologist), Dr James Elangbam (Obstetri-cian& Gynecologist) and Dr Ruhi Gupta (Radiologist) attended the programme apart from Dr John Lupheng, MO in-charge, CHC Saikul.
During the antenatal clinic, a total of 36 high risk pregnant women were detected while 157 USG, 496 general laboratory test, 63 HIV test and 65 RDT slide test were done apart from 59 pregnant women attending counselling seminar.
Speaking on the sideline of the programme, MO in-charge of CHC Saikul, Dr John Lupheng said that the huge turnout undoubtedly shows how people of Saikul areas perceived the health programmes intended for them and the response could be seen today.
He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the State Health Society, Maternal Health team under the leadership of Dr Meena Seram for choosing CHC Saikul for the PMSMA programme where a record breaking numbers of pregnant women availed the facilities and also conveyed special thanks to the specialist volunteers, Dr Bilashni, Dr James and Dr Ruhi Gupta for bearing the huge number of pregnant women who have been waiting for the day eagerly.
The MO also expressed gratitude to the District Health Society, Kangpokpi for extending necessary helps and conveyed special thanks to all the ASHAs of CHC Saikul for mobilizing pregnant women for the success of the programme and all the volunteers who have spared their valuable time for the pregnant women of Saikul area.
