Imphal, May 10 2018:
CPI Manipur State Council State Secretary, L Sotinkumar has informed that trade unions, banks, Government employees, students, women societies, youth and farmers will launch protests at various State capitals of the country on May 23 against the BJP led NDA Government.
Speaking to media persons at Irawat Bhavan today, Sotinkumar said that as a part of the said Nation wide protests a mass rally will be organised at Imphal and a mass sit in protest will be organised at GM Hall on the same day.
Around 136 organisations will take part in the protest, he added.
The protest has been organised in connection with the completion of four years in power by the BJP led NDA Government in the Centre during which the country has witnessed many communal issues as well as various negative impacts due to demonetisation and GST.
He further accused the BJP Government of causing immense hardships to the people by failing to deliver on its promises, manipulating and revising various laws and Acts like labour laws, land laws and allowing multinational companies to set foot in the country through foreign direct investment.
Sotinkumar explained that the protest has been planned against the failure of various Government programmes despite high promises.
