MU reservation row persists Nov 7 MoU abrogated

In a sharp turn around, the MU authority has abrogated the MoU signed between the VC of the varsity and student organisations, ATSUM, KSO Ghqs, ANSAM, MUTSU and DESAM on November 7 and signed a new MoU with AMSU, KSA, MSF and MUSU on November 8, upholding the resolution of the Academic Council of MU on October 8 .
The MoU said, 'The resolution of the Academic Council dated 8th October, 2016 of University remains as it is and can be amended only by another Academic Council in the light of the orders of the competent authority/Court" .
The MoU further said that the seats of 31 pc allotted to ST students will be out of the initial intake capacity in various departments as specified in the prospectus.
It was also agreed that the University Authority will uphold the sanctity and privilege of the Heads and Deans Committee and Academic Council of the university.
As such the Heads and Deans resolution of November 7 and subsequent meeting and resolutions will be followed and to ensure better academic atmosphere, the university will look into the feasibility of approaching competent authority if the need arises.
