Imphal, September 07 2015:
Manipur People's Party (MPP) has expressed serious concern over spreading wrong information that non-locals are harrassed and attacked in Manipur.
In a statement, MPP clarified that no Bihari, Jain Marwari and non-local was harassed or attacked during pro-ILPS agitation in the State.
Further stating that no non-local has been asked to leave the State, MPP urged all sections of the people not to spread wrong information about the democratic agitations of the State.
The party strongly condemned Jan Adhikar Party leader Pappu Yadav for directing his supporters to pull out Manipuri passengers from trains in protest against alleged harassment meted out to Bihari migrant workers in Manipur.
The party also condemned the report published on a leading Hindi daily in Jaipur regarding attacks on Jain Marwaris in Manipur.
Regarding these incidents, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi must talk to the Chief Ministers of these two States at the earliest, the statement said.
It added that the State Government must not remain as a mere spectator when some individuals and organisations are propagating wrong news about the people of Manipur.
In his speech at an election rally held in the State ahead of the last Parliamentary election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that all the outsiders residing in the North East must be repatriated, MPP said.
