JAC demands befitting punishment

After a hijacker was allegedly thrashed to death by locals for trying to hijack a Honda Activa at Mayang Imphal Bengoon Awapalli road on August 5, locals have constituted a JAC demanding befitting punishment for the crime committed by the absconding hijacker.
Speaking to media persons today at Press Club, convener of the JAC W Nanao said that a gang comprising of Md Amir Khan s/o Md Imam Ali and Md Abdul Rahaman alias Mukti Rahaman alias Sana s/o Maulana Fajur Rahaman, both from Irong Chesaba Makha Leikai tried to hijack the two-wheeler from Bashir Ahmad (30) s/o Md Ashraf Ali who was accompanied by his five-year old son Sahadat on August 5 around 8.30 pm.
When Bashir refused to comply with their demand, one of the assailants fired three rounds at Bashir.
Hearing the gunshots, locals rushed to site.
While Abdul Rahaman managed to escape from the spot, Amir Khan was caught and thrashed to death.
The police department and authority concerned should apprehend Abdul who is still absconding within 24 hours and must be punished accordingly, Nanao said while adding that the JAC has already submitted a memorandum to the DGP in this regard.
He further said that both families of Amir and Abdul must bear all the medical expenses of Bashir who is currently undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
