Dental hospital in the offing

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has agreed in principle to set up a dental hospital in Manipur.
Manipur Minister of Health and Family Welfare L Jayantakumar along with the Health Commissioner Moses Challai met high officials of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday at Nirmal Bhavan here and approached the officials of the Ministry for setting up a dental hospital in Manipur, which is urgently required in the State.
In the meeting, the officials of the Ministry asked them to submit a concept paper for the project.
The Minister of Health and Family Welfare assured the officials of the Ministry to send the concept paper after having discussion with officials of the State Government.
Health Minister Jayantakumar also met the Secretary-cum-Director General of National AIDS Control Organization Sayan Chatterjee and had a discussion on alarming situation of spreading HIV/AIDS at Moreh, being strategically located at the border with Myanmar and several people from different places visiting the town in addition to being in the direct route of drug smuggling and illegal trades.
In the meeting, they discussed about illegal flesh trade and blood transfusion at the border which would be another factor of spreading of HIV/AIDS and decided to take up appropriate measures in the matter.
The Minister was accompanied by the Manipur Health Commissioner Moses Challai.
