Demands for 36 Depts cleared

CM O Ibobi today informed State Assembly that the recruitment process of the security personnel in the State has been done primarily to improve the law and order situation in the hills.
Clarifying over the statements made by Opposition MLAs Dr I Ibohalbi and L Ibomcha during discussion on Supplementary Demand of 36 Departments today, Ibobi pointed out that number of police personnel in police stations hardly reaches 50 heads in the hills and they are not even provided weapons.
So, the recruitment rally has been started to solve this problem and help in improving the law and order situation in the hills.
The CM reiterated that on account of law and order problem I the State, no outside entrepreneurs or companies are willing to set their foot in the State.
With the improvement in the law and order situation, the outside companies will show interest to invest or set up their industries in the State and this would solve the problem of unemployment problem.
Coming of railways and expansion of Airport would also help in this direction.
Furthermore, the CM pointed out that the hill areas in Manipur are being protected by the Indian Constitution.
However, the age old trend of the village Chief being the owner of the land still exist in the hills.
So, a proper survey of the lands in the hills needs to be done and the owners identified.
Later on, House passed Supplementary Demand for Grants amounting Rs 574.61 crores for the 2012-13 unanimously.
