International NGOs step in for North East youth empowerment

Many National and International NGOs working for youth empowerment have pledged to embark on North East youth empowerment in the International Youth Dialogue held at Brahma Kumari Om Shanti Centre in the national capital.
NGOs working for youth both in India and 38 other countries including noted Gandhian MS Subba Rao and Robin Hibu, IPS, Addl DGP attended the function.
"I have attended the International Youth Dialogue as special invitee to share the insight of issues and solutions for vulnerable youth of North Eastern States and empathetically shared the problems of North East youth in the meeting", said the newly promoted Addl DGP, Robin Hibu while speaking over telephone.

Other issues highlighted by the noted police officer from North East Arunachal Pradesh includes lack of connectivity and communication in most parts of the North East States, unemployment issues, difficulty in getting finance for entrepreneurs, lack of marketing and storage facilities even for few start up, massive migration of NE youth for petty jobs in cities.
It also includes lack of follow up action after receiving skill training programme by the youth of the North Eastern States which has led to many exploitations specially with young women of North East, lack of awareness about the culture and food habit of North East people in other cities of India, lack of robust redressal forum to solve problems faced by the young north easterners in other cities.
IPS Robin Hibu further said that many national and international NGOs working for youth empowerment have pledged to start working by establishing appropriate centres at Norm East states while adding that members of Helping Hands NGO will be coordinating for their exposure visit to Ziro, Kohima, Imphal, Kokrajhar, Aizawl, Itanagar and Shillong very soon.
"We need to connect North East states with the world for the development and empowerment of our youths", Robin Hibu said while adding that it was a small step for sustainable development to make North Eastern States better especially for the youth in future.
