Opening function held

The opening ceremony of an Academic campaign called Aphaba Maheiroi Puthoksi Aphaba Khunai Oihansi was organised today at Paobitek high school, Imphal West, by Pangal Students Organisation (PSO) .
PSO president Md Ajijur Rahaman, TLMP vice president MM Islamuddin, MSF and PSO advisors Kh Sirajuddin, U Tiken, AMUCO advisor KT Rahaman, TLMP ex councillor MV Ruhun Amin, Royal Academy of Advance Learning (RAAL) founder E Ibomcha Singh and Greenland Academy founder MK Azad Khan attended the opening ceremony as the presidium members.
Speaking at the function, U Tiken said, "Parents are the first teacher of a child and as such his or her behaviour depends on the upbringing" .
He pointed out that most of the students nowadays seem to have little respect for their teachers and often lack discipline.
E Ibomcha said that the number of truly qualified and educated people seem less although there are high number of people with BA and MA degrees.
He said, "Change in a society is imminent and the greatest change bringer is education.
But people need to be properly educated in order to bring that change because only scratching the surface will be disastrous in the long run.
"Education is for everyone and is not biased towards the poor or the rich.
It does not matter if one is studying at a Government school or an esteemed private school because the syllabus are still the same and it all depends on hard work and persistence", Ibomcha said.
"It is better to stop the trend of studying only for marks or degrees", he added.
Speaking about the importance of education, Kh Sirajuddin said, "In order to bring development in a society or a Nation, the various communities need to work together.
This is possible only with the help of proper education" .
Md Ajijur Rahaman also stressed the importance of the teachers and the society in guiding the students to become better individuals.
At the function, books were also distributed to more than 80 students of class one to eight of Paobitek who come from poor families.
