Dr L Shyamkishore said that the procedure was performed using Philips Premium Flat Panel Digital Cathlab system and Siemens Transesophagael Echocardiography (TEE) which make holes above the heart and this procedure does not require open heart surgery.

He said that these devices do not give any scar and pain to the patients.
SKY hospital is only hospital in Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram to provide this service, he said.
With this service available in Manipur, Dr Shyamkishore said, burden of the parents whose children have such complicacies will be reduced significantly.
The Manipuri boy belongs to a BPL family and he underwent the procedure free of cost in the hospital, Dr Shyamkishore said.
