AR organises security meet; promotes Fit India Movement

Troops of Assam Rifles interacted with prominent chiefs and CSOs of Churachandpur district, today.
The interaction meet was conducted to sensitise the village chiefs and CSOs of the areas on prevailing security situation and also to enhance the cooperation and synergy between the Assam Rifles and the villagers amidst the Covid pandemic, said IGAR (S) in a statement.
The chiefs and the CSOs of the region voluntarily attended the security meet and expressed profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for the initiative and also requested the team of Assam Rifles to conduct such a meet at regular intervals to ensure peace and tranquility in the region, it added.
In another statement, IGAR (S) said that Assam Rifles had assisted in organising a 10 km 'Kana Valley Marathon' yesterday.
The event was a prelude to the upcoming sports tournament in the Kana valley area in which approximately 32 football teams of the Kana valley area will participate, continued the statement.
Saying that Assam Rifles had organised the Kana valley festival for the first time in the region last year but the same could not be replicated on account of the pandemic, it added that Assam Rifles, however, provided all necessary administrative assistance including medical support to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
