Ekta Parishad calls for establishment of 'Justice & Peace Ministry'

Ekta Parishad Manipur in coordination with National Youth Project (NYP) has jointly organised observation of International Day of Nonviolence cum Public Consultancy on 'Homestead Land Rights' at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound on October 2.The observation was launched with a tree plantation programme inside the campus followed by a footmarch demanding the establishment of 'Justice & Peace Ministry' in the State and at National level and expecting restoration of conflicts through agreement and dialogue, instilling passion of peace in youthful minds and collective implementation of progressive peace, social justice and development etc, said a press release issued by Ekta Parishad.
Floral tributes was paid to the photo of Mahatma Gandhi and observed two minute silence.
The presidium members spoke on nationalism, Mahatma Gandhi and non violence.
Also a State level committee have been formed by representatives of landless villagers from Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur districts and continuing the demand for homestead land to the landless 'Eigi Lam Eigi Hak' (My Land My Right) campaign has been launched by State Co-ordinator of Ekta Parishad, Aribam Rishi Sharma, added the press release.
Ekta Parishad further informed that memorandums have been submitted to various State authorities and political parties enlisting the following demands- Inclusion of landlessness related issues in villages in Chief Minister's 2.2 - Go to Village Mission, a formal survey on landlessness by the State authorities concerned, to launch a Chief Minister Special Scheme to allot land to the landless, conversion of 'Manipur State Right to Homestead Bill, 2016' submitted by the organisation into an Act, to promote the establishment of 'Justice and Peace Ministry' at State and National level.
Further, Ekta Parishad appealed to all the political parties to include the above mentioned points in their election manifesto in the upcoming Assembly election to be held in 2022 .
