Imphal, August 02 2016:
The JAC constituted against the unnatural death of Laishram Rasamni Devi has threatened to launch intense form of agitation if the inquiry committee set up by the officials of RIMS to investigate the death of Rasamni fails to ascertain the actual cause of death.
Addressing mediapersons today at Manipur Press Club, convener of the JAC S Kullachandra recounted the unfortunate incident.
"Rasamni was admitted to RIMS casualty following complications caused by severe vomiting on July 28 at around 3 pm.
She was kept under observation by PG doctors as there was RMO at that moment.
Later around 10 pm, PG doctors administered an injection which resulted in respiratory complication.
The family members asked the doctors to take up necessary steps.
Only when the condition got severe around midnight, they administered oxygen to the patient but it was too late, he added.
He alleged that though Rasamni was admitted around at 3.30 pm, the RMO and other doctors concerned neglected and wasted more than 9-10 hours.
The doctors concerned also failed to oversee tests like CT scan, ABG estimation and electrolyte test.
They did not refer her to other hospitals that have better facilities.
Following the death of Rasamni, the JAC met the Medical Superintendent Dr Amuba and he assured that the report of the inquiry committee constituted by the RIMS will be completed by 4 pm of August 4 .
S Kullachandra warned that the JAC will launch various forms of agitation if the inquiry committee fails to provide the actual cause of death.
