1st Widows Day celebrated

Imphal, March 02 2020:
Widows and Orphan Resource Development Trust organised its 4th foundation day followed by 1st Widows Day cum gift presentation programme at GM Hall today.
Former Vice Chancellor, MU Professor Hijam Tombi graced the function as the chief guest while N Gunindro of Widows and Orphan Development Trust attended as functional president and Central Agricultural University Imphal Vice Chancellor M Premjit and retired Professor of Chemistry, MU Dr M Dhaneshwar as the guests of honour respectively.

Speaking as the chief guest, H Tombi lauded the Trust for observing Widows Day.
Saying that majority of the women in the State often face hardships when they are widowed, when it comes to maintaining the rest of the family/children.
He stated that the authorities concerned and the public should extend their help in making sure that the welfare initiatives launched by the Government for widows reach the beneficiaries.
N Gunindro mentioned that the Trust has organised the event to motivate the widows and presented the gift as sign of goodwill and encouragement.
