Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has admitted in the State Assembly that it has been mentioned in the second paragraph of page number 28 of 'A Text Book on Nagaland' that Siroi lily is found only in the Siroi mountain of Nagaland.
Nagaland Board of Secondary School published the first edition of the text book in 1994 for Class IX and X students.
Responding to a question raised by MLA K Shyam during question hour in the State Assembly, Okram Ibobi said that Revenue Department, Horticulture Department, Ukhrul DC and Education (S) Department have been looking into the matter as it needs a thorough study.
He said that the rare lily, which is found only in the Siroy hill of Ukhrul (Manipur), was declared as the State flower in 1946 .
To another query raised by MLA Dr Ng Bijoy, the Chief Minister said that the Conservation of Pony Land and Wetland Act has been implemented in the State from September 10, 2014 .
To a question regarding the present status of Industrial Training Centre, Motbung, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who also holds TA and Hills portfolio, said that the Tribal Development Department had stopped using the building of the centre due to its deteriorating condition in 2007-2008 .
He said that the centre has a regular wool knitting instructor.
