Dr Nimaichand is currently a spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh and a chairman of YUC's Managing Committee.
Speaking to media person while hoisting a feast for inmates lodged at a quarantine centre opened at Yairipok Universal College (YUC), Wangkhem-Huidrom Leikai, Dr Nimaichand said that lodging returnees from different cities at quarantine facility is for the greater good of the State as it would help greatly in identifying COVID affected people before they come into contact with other people.
Saying that people who reacted to the resolution taken by the State Government to send inmates who complete their quarantine period without testing seem to lack scientific knowledge of the disease, he alleged that there is nothing wrong in sending people who don't show symptoms during the incubation period for home quarantine without testing.
Notably, YUC observed its 30th foundation day, today.
Dr Luwang said that YUC was founded on June 1, 1990, as a coeducational college affiliated to Manipur University.
