Imphal, July 29 2021:
The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Moreh block has denounced alleged obstruction caused to transporting of medicines for pharmaceutical stores in Moreh town by 20 Assam Rifles and urged authorities concerned to ensure smooth transportation of the same.
In a release, KSO Moreh president Lalhritsang Hmar said it is against illegal trading and smuggling of medicine along the Imphal-Moreh route and appreciates effort of the Assam Rifles in impounding such illegal con-signments.
However, the KSO is against the frequent obstruction caused to transportation of medicines meant for chemists (Pharmacy) in Moreh town.
It also expressed serious concern that due to the unwarranted interferences by the 20 Assam Rifles, Moreh residents have been facing scarcity of pharmaceutical drugs and medicines.
While claiming that KSO is aware of large consignment of medicines including Covid Testing Kits worth crores of rupees being trafficked along the route crossing the same security check points without any hindrance, it questioned the rationale for the 20 Assam Rifles stationed at Tengnoupal post and other check points frequently obstructing transportation of few quantities of pharmaceutical goods meant for chemists in Moreh town.
The KSO Moreh Block also advised 'particular chemist and some other individuals' to stop their nefarious act of hindering transportation of the medicines in connivance with the AR troops failing which the unholy nexus would be laid bare before the public.
