Imphal, August 24 2016:
GPRN/NSCN (known to many in Manipur as NSCN-Unification) leaders met Kuki leaders in Manipur recently, according to Kuki National Organisation (KNO) .
KNO is one of the two umbrella organisations of the Kuki (underground) outfits which is in Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact with the Government.
In a letter addressed to the chairman of the GPRN/NSCN which was made available to the media this evening, KNO President PS Haokip said, "I am deeply moved by your decision to entrust three eminent leaders of GPRN/NSCN including C Singson, adviser to the collective leadership, Alezo Venuh, envoy to the collective leadership, Ritsa L Thongru, secretary to GPRN/NSCN to meet with your Kuki brothers to convey a message of peace and love from the Naga people.
The gesture is highly appreciated by the Kuki National Organisation (KNO)" .
The letter stated, "The name of your group 'NSCN Unification' speaks volumes about your love and commitment for your people.
Unification is indeed an essential quality, precious in the eyes of God.
In the fullness of His time, I believe you will succeed in bringing all your people under one political umbrella" .
According to the KNO, in the discussions between the KNO and the GPRN/NSCN leaders, "the infamous deeds, ie a trail of killings left by Th Muivah, general secretary of NSCN (IM)" featured prominently.
The KNO letter stated that "Th Muivah has claimed 'Nagaland for Christ', but on the other hand he started killing Nagas when he defected from Naga National Council (NNC), following the Shillong Accord.
Reverend Longri Ao, who went to pray for Muivah and to persuade him not to defect from the NNC was also brutally killed" .
It further stated that Muivah also killed hundreds of Angami and Chakesang Naga freedom fighters, including my friend like Kezalesa Angam from Kohima at Burma border before he escaped to upper Burma.
"In Burma, while at camp in the area of SS Khaplang in 1988, Muivah killed some cadres of Khaplang.
In retaliation Khaplang killed about 80 of Muivah's boys and chased the remaining cadres to Somra Tract," the KNO letter added.
The KNO then said that a question worth looking into is why Muivah also killed Kuki people from 1992 to 1997 .
"Killing Kukis was adopted as a strategy to win back the hearts of so many Nagas whom he had alienated after going against the Shillong Accord," the letter alleged while adding, "Muivah created false propaganda about Kukis, and went on a killing spree from 1992 until 1997" .
According to the KNO, over 900 Kukis, mainly innocent women and children lost their lives.
With growing retaliation from the Kukis, in 1997 he cleverly signed a peace treaty with the Government of India, it added.
"As a reminder to my brothers, I would like to mention that I had sent my condolences to the bereaved family members of General Pu Povezo and Pu Chale Kevichusa, whom Muivah killed in cold blood," the KNO letter concluded.
