Kiran Bedi pep-talk on education

On her maiden visit to the State, police officer-turned social activist Dr Kiran Bedi called upon the young students to strive for academic excellence as such craving is the surest means to be successful in life.
Addressing the gathering at the 'Scholarship Mela' organised by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh at JN Manipur Dance Academy today, Dr Kiran Bedi, the first woman IPS officer of the country, assured that Aryans Group would extend all possible assistance in pursuing higher education to deserving students of the North East Region.
Conveying that the 'Scholarship Mela' was specifically organised for financially deprived but meritorious students who are determined to pursue higher education, she maintained that 50 students would be short-listed from each of the North Eastern States out of which 10 would be finally selected to study technical courses in institutions run by the Group.
Expressing that students of the North East region have superior educational quality than their counterparts in other parts of the country, DR Kiran bedi also affirmed that inspite of being relatively new in the region, Aryans Group will continue to scout talented and meritorious students in the coming years.
Bank of India's assistant manager Umesh, JNM Dance Academy director L Upendro and Aryans Group chairman Dr Anshu Kataria were also present at the occasion.
