State reports 629 new cases, nine fatalities

Imphal, June 23 2021:
The state on Wednesday reported nine fatalities and 629 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 5336 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
As of Wednesday, the state has 9291 active cases out of which 2565 patients are in home isolation and 5150 in CHICs.
There are 714 patients in Covid hospitals including district hospitals and some CHCs.
Out of them, 288 including 35 post-Covid patients are on oxygen support and 37 patients are on ventilator support.
CCCs have 862 patients of which 81 are on oxygen support.
However, these figures do not include data from JNIMS, I-land hospital and CCC Kodompokpi, Thoubal.
The state has recorded 14,871 new cases and 267 fatalities during the current month of which 3774 new cases and 66 fatalities were reported in the last seven days.
So far, 37,434 positive cases and 719 fatalities have been registered in the state since the beginning of the current year.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee confirmed nine Covid 19 deaths (7 males & 2 females) in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (3), Imphal East (3), Bishnupur (1), Noney (1) and Churachandpur (1).Three each of them died at RIMS & JNIMS, two at Shija Hospitals and one at DH Churachandpur.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1074 .
Only one patient who succumbed to the infectious disease was below 60 years of age.
One patient died within eight hours of arriving at hospital, one within 24 hours and another within 72 hours.
Two patients did not have co-morbid conditions.
According to official reports, the 629 new cases included 627 people (314 males & 313 females) from among the general population and two from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
Their samples were tested at RIMS (25), JNIMS (28), District Hospitals (430) and other testing centres (146).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (102), Imphal West (149), Thoubal (50), Bishnupur (69), Kakching (54), Ukhrul (17), Churachandpur (94), Chandel (9), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (57), Jiribam (1), Kangpokpi (16), Kamjong (1), Pherzawl (2) and Noney (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 543 persons were discharged including 221 from home isolation, 6 from RIMS, 11 from JNIMS, 103 from CCCs and 202 from CHICs.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 65,622 (general population - 61,814 and CAPF personnel - 3,808).Number of recovered cases is 55,257 (general population - 51,496 and CAPF personnel - 3,761) while number of active cases is 9291 (general population - 9249 and CAPF personnel - 42).The recovery rate is 84.20 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1728 D-type and 419 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 447D and 106B filled cylinders and deliveries made in the last 24 hours to different districts and sub-division included Bishnupur (111D,5B), Chandel (24D,9B), Churachandpur (94D,0B), Senapati (48D, 0B), Thoubal (61D,32B), Ukhrul (34D,15B), Tamenglong (6D,6B), Jiribam (32D,12B), Moreh (19D,8B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (3D,16B), Noney (2D,0B), Pherzawl (6D,2B) and CCCs (334D,99B) .
As of Tuesday, 5,04,276 individuals have been given Covid-19 vaccine shots and 82,554 of them have got their second dose.
CCR report informed any individual with oxygen saturation level (SPO2) below 94 per cent to seek immediate medical advice or shift to Covid Care Centre or to contact the helpline numbers.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (23,063), Imphal East (14,754), Thoubal (5329), Churachandpur (5137), Kang-pokpi (1664), Tamenglong (2077), Bishnupur (3990), Senapati (1365), Ukhrul (1392), Kakching (3183), Chandel (1118), Noney (553), Tengnoupal (731), Jiribam (726), Kamjong (434) and Pherzawl (106) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (393), Imphal East (281), Thoubal (100), Churachandpur (85), Kangpokpi (27), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (76), Senapati (5), Ukhrul (15), Kakching (56), Chandel (14), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (5), Jiribam (3), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 21,148 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 21,582 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,80,229 tests per million population against the national average of 2,84,219 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.64 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5336 samples were tested and the single day test positivity rate was 11.79 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 7.55 per cent.
