Loitam Richard: Justice demanded for deceased students

Imphal, May 23 2012:
The Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) took serious notes of the deaths of Loitam Richard and Laba in its Excecutive Committee meeting held on May 21 .
According to a statement issued by the party today, racial profiling of students in "mainland India" had been strongly protested during the meeting and it resolved to take up "actions at all levels within the party" to bring an end to such incidents.
Further, the statement added that the matter would be apprised to the MP and north-east in-charge of the Trinamool Congress KD Singh on his visit to Manipur on May 25 .
MPTC also demanded handling over the case to the CBI.
Meanwhile, the All India Students' Federation (AISF), Manipur State Counicil, expressing its dissapointment over the handling of Richard Loitam's case by the authorities, asserted that they would continue to stage agitations until justice is delivered.
The Federation also slammed the Manipur Govt for keeping mum about the incident after assuring penance for those guilty to the people, said a statement.
The statement of the Federation also informed that it plans to stage protests at different districts of the State starting May 24.The first move, as reported, will commence from Bishnupur district.
