Serakhatun murder case

JAC members and a large number womenfolk from Hiyangthang Pallak today tried to storm the Chief Minister's bungalow demanding early arrest of the murderers of Serakhatun, who was found murdered on the bank of Nambul river at Irom Meijrao yesterday.
The locals tried to reach the Chief Minister's bungalow crossing Keishamthong bridge from Mayai Lambi at around 5 pm.
However, they were blockaded by police at Keishamthong Police Lane, near MDU hall.
Later, police allowed some members of JAC to meet the Chief Minister.
Speaking to reporters, a JAC member said that their demands included early arrest of Phusam Md Abdul Kadir alias Amuthi (28) s/o Ibosana of Hiyangthang Pallak Chandranadi Mapal and award befitting punishment to him.
It may be mentioned that the lifeless body of Serakhatun w/o (L) Abdul Jalim of Hiyangthang Pallak was recovered from Nambul river bank at Irom Meijao Mamang Leikai yesterday morning.
Her hands were found tied with a plastic rope.
Serakhatun was a vegetable vendor at Hiyangthang bazar and she was allegedly last seen with Phusam Md Abdul leaving the market at around 7.30 pm on September 19 .
It may also be mentioned that the angry locals of Serakhatun's locality blockaded Mayai Lambi road and burned down Phusam Md Abdul's house yesterday.
Serakhatun's body is still lying at RIMS morgue unclaimed.
