All vehicles to have HSR plates

All the District Transport offices in the state are set to be equipped with the facility for providing High Security Registration (HSR) plates to all the vehicles.
The process of providing the same for the vehicles in Imphal West has been started.
According to an official of the Shimnit Utsch India Limited, the agency which has been engaged for the exercise of providing HSR plates, said that after the launching ceremony of providing High Security Registration plates held at the Transport Directorate on April 12, the process for providing the same to vehicles in Imphal West has already been started.
A counter for HSR plates has also been opened at
the Transport Directorate.
The official further informed that the forms for HSR plates may be obtained from the counter at the Transport Directorate and the assembling of the plates are to be done in the fitting centre at MSRTC Complex, Moirangkhom.
For fitting the HSR plates on two wheelers (Scooters), Rs 608 would be charged while Rs 597 for other two wheelers including motor bikes and mopeds, Rs 734 for three wheelers and Rs 1,322 for light motor vehicles.
The officials disclosed that the process of providing HSR plants to all vehicles would also be carried out in all the districts of the state.
Once fitted in a vehicle, the HSR plates would not be allowed to remove and there is also no machine to remove the plates under any circumstances, until and unless the whole area of the vehicle in which the plate has been fitted, is removed altogether.
In cars and jeeps, the HSR plates would be fitted on the wind shields.
It is said that the process for fitting HSR plates on vehicles has also been started in Meghalaya and Nagaland in the North East.
Other states are expected to follow gradually.
