4 injured in land dispute violence

CCpur, December 15 2018:
Four villagers of Zoumunnuam in Churachandpur have been injured early today as a man from an adjoining village with which the village has history of land dispute fired at several youths who are digging grave for a villager of Zoumunnuam who passed away last night.
The man who reportedly fired at the crowd, identified as T Donglian (55) s/o (L) Chinzakhai of Kerith village have surrendered before the police later today along with the single barrel gun he used to commit the crime.
According to report received by the police, the firing occurred at about 8.10am .
A case under section 307/326 IPC & 25 (1-C) Arms Act was taken up by the police.
The four youth injured by the gunshot have been identified as Dominic Ginlianpau Mantuang (36) s/o (L) Haukhup of Zoumunnuam; Thangminlun (30) s/o (L) Khamzagin of Zoumunnuam; Lianminthang (30) s/o T Haukap of Zoumunnuam; and Lamkhanpau (29) s/o Pastor Lamgen of Zoumunnuam.
While the rest are treated at Churachandpur District Hospital, Dominic Ginlianpau who received bullet in the abdomen was referred to Imphal for further treatment.
The Villages of Zoumunnuam and Kerith located about 2kms north of Churachandpur PS have a violent history of land dispute with both sides claiming ownership for a disputed piece of land.
