Police fine SOP violators

The Police Department continued the crack down on violators of guidelines and restrictions issued by the State Government and the State Disaster Management Authority in connection with COVID-19 pandemic, including failure to wear mask in public places, failure to maintain social distancing in public places, spitting in public places, etc.
to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
During today's drive, 284 persons were detained and released later after warning and a sum of Rs 45,350/- was collected as fine from SOPs violators, said a statement by the Police.
The Police Department warned that those who violate the SOPs shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other appropriate laws.
The Police Department had been working relentlessly since the beginning of the pandemic to make the people aware about the Covid appropirate behaviour and had been voicing for observing all the Covid SOP as mandated by the authority.
